I ate way too much (felt like I’d eaten at the Cheesecake Factory – That’s a good thing), enjoyed seeing my relatives (they’re quite entertaining) and got to ride in a marvelous 1989 Lincoln Towncar. My cousin Derrik was once the owner of a Mitsubishi Evo 9000 (some VIII number, I’ve lost track) that he dumped a lot of money into and pulled a LOT of power out of. It was amazing to ride in and drive, I’ve never driven something so responsive. However, the car payment + $250/month for insurance really started to take it’s toll, so he sold it. I’m not sure what he drove in the interim but a few weeks ago he managed to get a pristine 1989 Lincoln Towncar, white paint, vinyl roof, red leather, 5.0L V8, power everything and then some. It. Is. Gorgeous. And, only had 37,000 original miles. For $700. It was a dream to ride in.

After the feast I headed up to Salt Lake Downtown to join a pretty good sized group of photowalkers for the (now) annual Turkey Shoot. The streets are pretty empty and everything is closed. It was quite fun. I set my camera on ISO6400 for most of the shots, and took advantage of the nice fast f2.0 of my 135mm. I had a good time. We wandered around for about 2.5 hours, and in the end I managed to not be too cold – I planned well. Several of the pictures are cropped – I quite like having 21 Megapixels to play with :) . Yes, I like my new camera. And it’s gonna be new for a long time!
