Disrespect

Kohls was having a 40% off swimwear sale this weekend, so I hit it up on Saturday to get some new shorts for the Hawaii trip (Update – We got new tickets, at twice the price, but tickets nonetheless). I went in the dressing room to try some on and was just… ticked off at what I saw. Whoever was shopping before me was a complete disrespectful slob. Opened up some shirts, tried on some pants and then just dropped them in a wrinkled mess on the seat, left his garbage in there and about 10 things hanging up. Absolutely disrespectful.

The Two Sides of Customer Service

Next week, on the 12, my entire family is going to Hawaii; we’re all very excited. About 2 months ago we bought our tickets, some with SkyMiles, others with money. Most of us were on the same flight. Today, that’s not true anymore. ATA Airlines, who was covering the leg to Maui, has declared bankruptcy and cancelled all their open flights. So now, we’re flightless. And it sucks. We spent about $520 for round trip tickets, and right now a search out of Salt Lake is sitting at a pretty $1400. Thanks ATA! Marvelous service!

On the flip side, I checked my minutes today and learned I was over 10 as of this morning, with another 3 days left until my new minutes showed up. I tried upgrading my plan online, but it wouldn’t go retroactive, so I was screwed. On my way home from work I called ATT and got Chris, a marvelous 61 year old Customer Service Agent. He was able to upgrade my plan to 900 minutes and make it retroactive to the beginning of the month soooo, I’ll have about 400 rollover minutes in a few days. Nice!! So, Airlines 0, ATT 1 for the day.

Vote for Joel!

So, I have an idea. As mentioned a few days ago, Provo is evicting me out of a house that I technically don’t live in. Physically I do, yes, but on paper I don’t. My car is registered to my parents Alpine Address. I’m registered to vote in Alpine. My Drivers License says I live in Alpine. My bills all go to Alpine. On paper, I live in Alpine. This is my defense against Provo’s corrupt order to evict me, but even if I appeal I’m positive I’d lose. And if I lose I have to pay any and all fines and fees that were associated with my appeal. Thanks Provo. Way to give someone an easy opportunity to defend themselves. Ha! Guilty until proven innocent, that’s how it works anymore. It’s so wrong.

Anyways, I hatched an idea this morning to go down to City Hall and apply to run for Provo City Council in hopes that they’ll deny my request as I don’t live in Provo. At least on paper, and for this instance that’s where it counts, on paper. Once that gets proven, I’d go to zoning and ask them how they can legally evict me from a home that I am not recognized as living in in Provo. Take that, you socialist pigs! Bring on the Revolution!

Seriously though… Provo Government needs a serious overhaul. Billings needs to go, students need more than one member on the city council… the list goes on. To me, The Government should function in such a way that you aren’t even aware it’s there; public life goes on as normal and the government just works in the background. Unfortunately, in Provo, you’re more than aware the government is at work because they just harass and make noise and do all they can to get attention. And, in my case, all they can do to get you to leave town. Very welcoming.
