American Trucks

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

The Big 3. Chevy, Dodge, Ford. They’ve been building trucks for decades, always touting their American Power over Japanese innovation. But, I have to find it quite comical that 2 of the big 3 use Japanese Technology in their trucks. The Chevy Duramax Diesel is an amazing engine. However, Chevy didn’t design in. Isuzu did. Isuzu is a Japanese company based in Tokyo.

Truck 2, Dodge. Utilizing the powerful Cummins Turbo Diesel they now advertise that it comes with a tough new Aisin Transmission. Guess who builds it? Toyota does. Interesting… very very interesting. Now wonder they’re scared of the Tundra, and the Titan… they’re coming from the source of some of the American Trucks best technology. Look out.

We Meet Again…

we_meet_again.jpgMax Hall. We meet again. Last July I got in a car accident, I was hit by someone on University Avenue by 9th E in Orem. Later I realized I was hit by BYU’s quarterback Max Hall. Today I went to meet Jeff Nemelka for lunch at Bamboo Hut, and parked next to a car that had some things hanging from the rear view mirror. Some credentials. For a BYU football player. Who happened to be Max Hall. We meet again. But not really, he wasn’t inside. I thought it was still funny…

Swine IV: Complete

I finally finished up my new theme for the website, the blog now matches everything else. It wasn’t very tricky to do, I just never got around to it. Well, tonight I did, so I guess I can’t say I never get around to it.

I taught Elders Quorum today, it went pretty good. I should have prepared better, but I slacked too much on it. Lesson’s don’t go well if you prepare by slacking. I also chatted with Bishop Mendenhall for a few minutes about which ward I get to attend. My dad would like me in his BYU ward, and I went there last week and it was good; but Bishop Mendenhall wants me to stay in this ward. We compromised. I told him I wanted out of my clerk callings, and least during block time. I haven’t been a regular ‘go to all meetings’ member in years, and I’m tired of it, so now my responsibility is just the directory, and I can do that on my own time. I’m happy about that.

Tonight I dug around in boxes and came across my mission suits. Being as I’ve been shrinking lately, I wondered how close I was to returning back to my returned missionary size. I’m not too far off, maybe another 2-4 inches and I’ll be good. I would love to wear those suits again. Not cause they’re stylish or anything, but it would just feel good to fit in them. I’ll be there soon, hopefully by the summer? It’s my next size goal. A new goal! Yay!

Oh, and lastly, here’s the home in Hawaii that my family will be staying at in April. It’s SO nice!! I’m shocked… but I’m SO very excited. Heck yes!!
