Twilight
The weather lately has been so very moody. This morning we had awesome blue skies and nice puffy white clouds, then it rained, then it cleared, then it rained, and then it cleared again. In this last clear time my niece Sicily agreed to play model tonight for me and met us in Lehi to get some sunset shots. But, there was no sunset. We drove around and eventually ended up in Willow Park. After getting the settings right Alicia thought the storm clouds to the north would be a cool backdrop… and she was so very right! This is definitely the best of the evening. I’m really enjoying all this flash stuff.
Flash Practice at Utah Lake
Tonight I joined up with a handful of the local awesome photographers and we did some off-camera-flash practice at Utah Lake. It’d be overcast and crappy weather all day but this evening the clouds parted just enough to give us a little character in the sky for some pretty cool shots.
This was lit with a single flash off to the front-left, and then adjusted in Aperture to make the colors pop a little bit more. We had a lot of fun, and ended up doing some crazy light painting before it got too dark to see.
Muscle Max
Tonight I decided to have some fun with off camera flash up at my parents house after Sunday Dinner. I basically cornered Max and made him wait for pictures. Alicia joined me and she talked him into showing off his big muscles, which he was all too happy to do.

For years my online persona has been unculturedswine. From the website, to usernames, to the twitter @ to you name it, I’ve pretty much got the corner on unculturedswine.
Over a year ago I bought joeljenkins.me as a more personal branding site for me to showcase my portfolio of web projects and to being promoting myself that way. Today I jumped on the shorturl bandwagon and bought joelj.me to use for shortening. To also allow great sharing and use of that domain I setup a subscription to Cloud App, a fantastic app for quickly sharing photos, links, files and more. Now, whenever you see a short link from joelj.me you’ll know it’s from me, and it gives me just a little more personal branding.
