What the weather?
My life has been pretty uneventful as of late, but what’s new? I guess since I try not to vent my political frustrations much anymore I don’t seem to have as much to write about. I haven’t done very much updating on my site at all this month actually, even my pictures are coming far and few between. I’ll remedy that soon.
I took the Part II class of Kenneth Linge’s Photographing People, and it was fantastic as expected. What I learned in the first class was added upon, and I’m starting to really analyze pictures now when I see them, as well as examine the light on people no matter where I am. This kind of constant searching and seeing is what made Kenneth see the light as he does – I’d like to make it as natural to me as it is to him.
I really want to make this year my year for photography. I really don’t have any single friends left to move out with, and I’ve decided that what ever money would go to rent can go to equipment. I’m finally venturing outside the realm of just lenses into reflectors and lights and anything else that’ll make me that much better than the uncle or cousin or friend with the nice camera. Kenneth has became a good friend (thanks Twitter!) and he’s an incredible resource to learn from. I’ve got a few weddings lined up this summer, and I really want to make sure they show what I’ve learned. I’m having a lot of fun at the same time.
My new job is great, I really like it. I work with fun people, I’m satisfied with the processes, and I’m fine tuning my web design skills. I’ve become much more proficient in CSS and have discovered new tips and tricks that’ll make what I do stand out from the thousands of sub-par developers out there.
I guess you could say I’m tired of being in the pretty good crowd, and I’m ready to take my professional skills and move into a higher level of expertise. I’ve always thought that I do pretty good at what I get myself involved in, but if I could just fine tune my focus and concentration, I’d really start to shine. I’m ready to find my elusive concentration. I’m excited to do so.
Don’t know if this is much of an exciting post, but it’s an update, right? I think since I’ve started using Twitter, I get a lot of my blogging out that way. So follow me!
