New Corporate Policy, Addendum 64b, November 2, 2008

To: All Company Employees

As you know, the election for the Presidency is coming up on Tuesday. If indeed Barrack Obama is elected the new President of the United States, and he is successful in implementing his new Tax plan which would increase the taxes that this company pays, please note the following change.

Since higher corporate taxes will mean that we as a company will not be able to retain as many employees as we are currently able (considering that for every $1 million in sales we will have to pay an extra 3%, or $30,000) we will have no choice but to lay off employees.

We have patrolled the parking lot and noted all the Support Obama bumper stickers. In accordance with our new company policy, you who support and vote for Barrack Obama will be the first to be laid off as you support this new re-distribution of wealth policy. Ask and ye shall receive.

~Okay, so that’s not a real letter in a real company, but it might be. It should be. I hope Obama supporters understand that it’s not hard for a small business with just a handful of employees to generate over $250,000 in income. And under Obama’s incredible tax plan they’ll be required to pay more taxes. And subsequently probably have to layoff at least one employee from that small handful. And we all know that higher taxes and fewer jobs help to stimulate the economy.

Don’t buy into the hype, the bias media interpretations or infomercials; buy into the facts. Do the research, do the math, do the right thing. Make sure the ‘change’ you’re voting for is change in the right direction.

  1. Ryan says:

Right on Joel. And you can take it a step further. Barack “The Messiah” Obama says with these tax increases on the rich that he is going to distribute the wealth to middle and low income families in the form of cash directly from the government. Imagine a world where this was actually possible (he promises it will happen but he’s lying through his face because he knows just as well as you and me that his numbers don’t add up). Around tax time you and I get a check from The Messiah himself for $2000. Woohoo! Shopping spree! Then we get to the store and realize that because Mr. Obama has increased taxes on oil companies, they have passed the taxes on to the consumer and we paid $5/gallon to get to the mall, but wait, we filled up the tank while we were at it and spent $150. Then we get thinking about it, and realize that over the course of the year, we have spent far more than $2000 more on gasoline, food, clothes, and the basic essentials of life since Obama took office, because WE WILL BE PAYING THE TAXES FOR THE CORPORATIONS that give us gasoline, food, clothes, and the basic essentials of life. Businesses don’t pay taxes! They pass them on to the consumer! WE PAY THEIR TAXES IN THE PRICE WE PAY AT THE STORE! The point is, any tax increase on any demographic is a tax increase on everyone. Obama’s plan is so stupid, I can’t believe anyone could support it in good conscience.
