Fugitive
I got a letter in the mail over the weekend from a long winded law firm in Lubbock, TX. They are notifying me of an Arrest Warrant in my name. For a speeding ticket. From June 2001.
I was coming home from my failed attempt to sell satellite systems in San Antonio, in the middle on nowhere on a straight Texas Highway, speed limit was 70mph, I was on cruise control at 77. Suddenly, a THP going the other direction flips a U-turn in the median and comes after me. He gave me a ticket. I was going 7 over. It was the middle of the day, clear blue skies, maybe 5 cars within a mile of me on the highway. He gave me a ticket.
I didn’t pay it. I still haven’t paid it. It was a $93.00 fine.
So, I’ve been notified again that I’m a criminal on the run. I’ve gotten a letter like this before, last one was about 2 years ago. I’ll probably just ignore this one as well.
Joelj, if you get hauled off to jail in Texas and I never see you again, I’ll hate you forever! And I promise to visit once a year.
