Change
As boring as monotony can become, sometimes change is just a sad reality. This morning I caught some Price is Right, and remembered when I went to a taping of that 2 years ago. Great memories! However, Bob Barker is gone. That’s a sad change. But, I’m not reminiscing on the change of TV hosts; rather the change of friendships and lives going in separate directions. Priscilla flew home to Houston today, two semesters of school in the bag and a season of marvelous memories. She’ll be missed, very much so. She is my best friend.
I’m listening to the Les Miserables soundtrack. Wow, that’s a memory from a lifetime ago. I saw Les Mis on Broadway in New York the summer of 1997 while on Heritage Tours. That was a fantastic trip. Three weeks on a bus visiting LDS Church and National historic sites. I found my testimony of Joseph Smith on that trip, something that bolstered me on my mission in Japan. That was another change… coming home from that. It’s a harsh reality to realize that when I go back to Japan, the country is the same, but those missionaries I served with and grew to love aren’t there anymore, just fading characters in the story of my life. It’s a pretty good story.
