Respect
No, I’m not referring to the song. I’m referring more towards the plague of disrespect that I seem to see everywhere. I had a run in with a neighbor here a few days ago, he’s rich, snobby, and has NO respect for anyone. I asked him to slow down, he drives about 40 in the neighborhood, and he passed me on a residential street the other day and that prompted the confrontation. He got mad and told me not to F around with him, I don’t know him blah blah blah. An absolute worthless human being. There’s anger, and then there’s evil. He was evil.
A few days ago I was searching a forum on the Photo application ‘Aperture’, and someone was having some issues. They started the post a little confused about how to fix it, and through each update you could see him getting more frustrated. Finally, he goes WAY too far in his words, but the forum still allowed his absolute disrespectful profanity to stay. And it’s not just there, I read blogs that are somewhat informative, but the poster feels it’s necessary to litter it with cuss words, as though that will help them get their point across.
Lastly, you have the Office of the Presidency. Yes, not too many fans of President Bush in American anymore, nevertheless, I don’t believe that in any way justifies the absolute lack of respect anyone in the media, general public or local spotlight seem to throw at him, and ultimately at the Office of the Presidency. That is undeniably the most powerful seat of leadership in the world, and it’s the butt of jokes more than the topic of debate. Absolute disrespect.
I’m sick of it. I don’t know how much longer this can go on to be honest, by choosing to mock and scorn, and not even remotely respect and support the Government that upholds the Freedom we enjoy, we’re sure to lose it soon enough. Disagreeing is one thing, but this is far past acceptable disagreement. Unfortunately, the source fires burn in too many places to quell this for good. Don’t know if there is much hope for fixing it.
“And now, as the preaching of the word had a great tendency to lead the people to do that which was just—yea, it had had more powerful effect upon the minds of the people than the sword, or anything else, which had happened unto them—therefore Alma thought it was expedient that they should try the virtue of the word of God.”
That pretty much sums it ups. Violence isn’t the key. Marches and Riots and Protests aren’t the key. TRUTH is the key, and it needs to be shouted from the rooftops.Well, how’s that for a blog post? Not much of an update on me is it? I’m going to try to be a little more insightful on my blogs from here on out. I’ll most likely be wrong on a lot of things I put on here, but at least it’ll let you see into how my brain works and my thinkings eh? Might be good for a laugh to see me try to be serious and thoughtful on a subject.
On the life things, everything is pretty good. Work is good, Friends are good, I’m good. Not much new to report. Working out with Dad goes on, and seems to be generating some results. When I first started, we talked a little bit to one of the owners of the Gym. Yesterday, we bumped into him again and said hi. He then went to the AF gym where m y dad used to work out and commented to one of the old workout buddies there that in the month that I’ve been working out he can see a pretty drastic difference in me. That makes me happy. Results make me happy.
